Materia opens ‘Inspiration Centre Amsterdam’
Materia, the Dutch ‘knowledge bank of materials’, moved to a brand new location, conveniently situated in Amsterdam. The Inspiration Center, where new innovative materials can be seen and felt in real life, was opened on May 23rd by Els Zijlstra, creative director & founder of Materia.

Innovative materials
Materia is a knowledge centre for developments and innovations in materials, and their applications in architecture and design. With a total area of 1400 m² the new Inspiration Centre contains material samples and gives access to interactive knowledge sharing, thematic exhibitions, lectures, workshops, flexible workplaces, a library, plus the entire archive of the thousands of Materia samples collected through the years.
Materia meets Green
For next year three special exhibitions are scheduled, starting with ‘Materia meets Green’. Followed by ‘Materia in 3D manufacturing’ (September to January 2012). The 3rd exhibition ‘Materia showing Craftmanship’ will run until May 2012.
